A delegation from the New Juaben Table Tennis Club mainly made up of players and Umpires of the just-ended ITTF-WEST AFRICA REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP hosted by Ghana at the Trust Emporium in Accra.
The Chairman of the Club Mr. Felix Adjetey Sowah together with the Club’s Vice Chairman and the Organizer led the delegation to thank the eminent chief of the New Juaben Traditional Area for his unflinching support to the Club ever since he ascended the highly esteemed throne.
The Club Chairman took the opportunity to leverage and report on the gains achieved in recent times to the King ( who happens to be the Life Patron of the Club).
The recent accomplishments include the dominance of NJTTC’s new Ping Pong sensation, James Marfo aka Mosquito who grabbed 3 solid national titles within a space of six months.
Emphasis was also made on the inclusion of two players from the club whose participation cushioned the National Team, the Black Loopers to claim the Bronze Medal at stake in the just-ended ITTF-AFRICA/WESTERN Championship, in the persons of the ever-sparkling cum experienced Samuel Akayade and the sensational Mosquito.
Hilda Agbota and Eva Ampah’s roles as tournament Umpires in the Championship were other face-lifting achievements that were reported on.
The Patron of the Club, Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng Ill, in turn, commended the efforts of the players and the umpires and encouraged them to work harder to uplift the club to a higher pedestal.
He also affirmed his continuous support of the development of the Club and admonished leadership to always draw nearer for assistance when the need arises.
